SAE’s Associate Degree of Computer Science equips you with the in-demand skills and technical knowledge you need to succeed in the technology-based industry of your choice.
Covering the fundamentals of computer science through to more advanced strategies and techniques, you’ll build a diverse skillset in programming, networks, web development, cloud computing and AI. You’ll hone in-demand expertise in programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java, and software and tools including Git, Unity, Maya and Kubernetes.
In addition to your core units, you’ll choose from a pool of electives to develop a specialisation in one of four areas: Games Programming, Software Development, Cyber Security or Web Development.
As you develop your technical expertise and work on more dynamic projects, you’ll collaborate with fellow SAE students and apply your skills to multidisciplinary projects in VFX, Film, Games and Animation.
Areas of study: Human-Computer Interaction, Scripting and Automation Fundamentals, Project Design and the Entrepreneur, IT and Cyber Security Fundamentals, Fundamentals of Computer Networks, Data Structures and Algorithms, Programming Foundations, Front-End Web Development, Systems and Design Thinking, Contextual Inquiry, ICT Hardware, Rapid Prototyping, Cloud Computing.
SAE University College
Duration is one and a quarter years full-time. Part-time study available for eligible applicants (excluding international student visa holders).
SAE has a range of approaches to learning and teaching that can be activated to provide flexibility in the face of changing circumstances as required, to support student progression regardless of external factors.
Please note that this is an online only course for students studying from Brisbane.
