Students build expertise in robotics, data analysis, soil science, hydrology, and crop and animal production. During their studies they develop practical, paddock-ready skills to sustainably improve livestock and crop outcomes across small, medium, and large-scale farming operations. Students learn from world-class researchers with strong industry connections. They access specialist agricultural and animal science facilities at UQ’s Gatton campus. Valuable hands-on experience is gained through industry placements, case studies, and fieldwork. Graduates find employment in organisations addressing challenges in agricultural innovation, climate change and rising global food demands. Combine this degree with a Bachelor of Agribusiness, and complete two degrees in four years (Bachelor of QTAC code: 766601). Graduate with a broad industry focus incorporating business and supply chain knowledge. Further study is available in a research-based honours program.
