In this dual degree, students gain a teaching qualification underpinned by strong disciplinary knowledge in their selected teaching areas. The business management component provides content knowledge to teach business and economics while the secondary education component provides the skills, knowledge and practical experience required for teacher registration and employment. This course prepares students for the challenges of secondary school teaching through on-campus lectures, tutorials and workshops integrated with practical experience in schools. Students undertaking an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) degree are required to successfully complete the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) in order to graduate and must pass the Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA).
Note: Fourth year of the degree (professional year) commences in Semester 1 only and must be completed full-time.
