Course outline

The QUT Bachelor of Communication enables you to harness media and communication platforms for meaningful global impact across industries. Learn to communicate effectively in a media-saturated world.

You’ll gain core skills in oral, written and mediated communication, and learn to analyse media content, industries, audiences and data. You’ll explore the role of media and communication in a democratic society and apply your learning to real-world problems through authentic industry experiences.

The double degree gives you broader skills and greater career flexibility—ideal if you’re aiming for creative roles or support positions in the creative industries. In the Bachelor of Communication/Bachelor of Laws (Honours), you’ll begin with foundational skills that blend cutting-edge technologies with proven communication techniques. Later, you’ll choose a major aligned with your career goals.

The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) integrates advanced content throughout, preparing you for practice or further study. You’ll develop legal research, problem solving, critical analysis, dispute resolution, and communication skills, and apply legal expertise in communication industries or specialist legal areas.

The course will also help you understand and promote the ethical standards of the legal profession and to appreciate international and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.

This course is covered by the QUT Offer Guarantee.
