This dual degree equips students with expertise in economics to enhance their engineering abilities, providing them with skills in investment decision-making and managing complex environmental and social priorities. In the economics component students undertake a variety of courses that will build knowledge about key economic principles, theories and tools, as they learn how to question, analyse, model and predict human behaviour. Combined with specialised engineering skills and knowledge, the unique skillset developed will unlock career opportunities across a broad array of industries and organisations. Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 and 4, C) is recommended for this program. Students without Specialist Mathematics or equivalent may be required to undertake preparatory courses which may not enable the program to be completed in the minimum time frame without overloading or undertaking summer study.
