The Bachelor of Mathematics component produces graduates with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to use mathematics in a range of applications. The program is flexible, you have the opportunity to explore the different study areas in your common first year before choosing your stream of specialisation (applied and computational mathematics or statistics and operations research).
It offers studies in applied mathematics, computational mathematics, mathematical modelling, operations research, visualisation and statistical modelling. This is not a stand-alone degree, but the first part of a vertical-double degree.
You will continue your studies by undertaking the Master of Teaching (Secondary) to prepare you to teach in mathematics and technologies education in a secondary school setting. Education and curriculum studies complement content knowledge. Professional experience placements provide the opportunity to work in real educational settings, supervised by practising professional educators.
