In this double degree, you will develop your passion and skills in visual arts while gaining practical business skills. You’ll be able to apply your creativity in a wide range of commercial areas, understand visual arts practice in terms of a contemporary art market, and be prepared to work independently as an artist, in arts and cultural organisations. Queensland College of Art and Design (QCAD) attracts students dedicated to becoming innovative and creative practitioners. In the Bachelor of Visual Arts, you’ll focus on theory and practice to gain experience in contemporary approaches to visual arts and develop studio skills and research methods. In the Bachelor of Business, you’ll gain a solid understanding of core business skills and learn how they can be applied in a range of industries. A double degree with business gives you the foundation to take your career just about anywhere. Through extensive practical experience opportunities, you’ll graduate with strong business networks and the ability to apply your skills to a broad range of business environments. Griffith University will commence making offers on 21 November 2025, and continue to make offers to applicants via both portfolio and ATAR/Rank in subsequent offer rounds. However, applicants are encouraged to submit a portfolio and attend an interview even if confident they will meet the ATAR/Rank Guarantee.

Portfolio admission

Trimester 1 – applications and portfolios must be submitted by 9 September 2025.

Trimester 2 – applications and portfolios must be submitted by 30 April 2026.

Applicants will still be able to apply after these dates and be considered for ATAR/Rank admission.

Additional entry requirements

Application is via ATAR/Rank. An optional portfolio admission pathway is also available for students who wish to instead demonstrate creative capability.

Admission via portfolio requires applicants to submit a portfolio and attend an interview.

Portfolio applicants will be invited to attend an interview at Queensland College of Art and Design, Brisbane City (South Bank) or the Gold Coast campus or via Teams.
