The diploma course will have a film and TV production focus. Learn a range of film-making skills needed for careers in the film, television and digital content industries. This advanced qualification is ideal for creative people seeking employment as a film-maker, editor, camera person, production manager, content creator or any of the multiple film and video crew roles. The screen industry plays an important role in Australia’s economy. The emergence of new technologies and wide range of job prospects means this is an exciting industry to be a part of. This course will give you the advanced skills required to work within this fast-paced dynamic sector. Led by industry experts, this immersive and hands-on course will give you valuable screen production skills in directing, camera operation, lighting, sound recording, video editing, writing and producing. You’ll have the opportunity to design and produce your own short screen productions, as well as perform a variety of crew roles on multiple TAFE productions. TAFE Queensland’s state-of-the-art facilities, studios, and specialist educators with strong links to industry are ready to launch you into jobs in the film, television and digital content industries. The Bachelor of Digital Design (Digital Media) is a specialist course that focuses on the essential practical knowledge needed to create complex interactive media. Students will gain up-to-date skills using industry-standard technologies in virtual and augmented reality, digital photography, digital audio, interactive fiction, video and animation to create digital media stories and experiences for the 21st century. Students will graduate with the expertise needed to find work in this flourishing creative industry and, more importantly, the knowledge to adapt to whatever the future holds.

Note

The diploma is offered at Mount Gravatt Campus the degree is offered at South Bank Campus. This combined qualification leads to the awards of Diploma of Screen and Media and Bachelor of Digital Design (Digital Media). The degree is delivered by TAFE Queensland in partnership with the University of Canberra. Applicants offered a place in the diploma who are not eligible for a subsidised enrolment will pay full fee. Fee subsidies and VET Student Loans may be available to eligible applicants, refer to tafeqld.edu.au/study-with-us/what-it-costs/index.html for more information. The degree is a Commonwealth supported place.
