This double degree is ideal if you want to make a meaningful impact in areas such as social justice, mental health advocacy, policy reform and legal practice, and will prepare you for a wide range of careers that require both legal expertise and a deep understanding of people. In the psychological science component, you’ll learn how to apply psychological theories to topics such as cognition, motivation, stress, health, criminal behaviour and group dynamics. You’ll also learn how to evaluate and understand tests that measure intellectual, behavioural and emotional states. You’ll develop interpersonal and communication skills and learn about the principles of counselling and core areas of psychology, with the opportunity to undertake a professional practice placement to enhance your skills. In the law component, you will make connections between law and ethics, legal theory, Indigenous issues, and internationalisation. From your first year, you’ll gain hands-on experience through moots, court visits, research projects and structured industry placements. The Griffith Legal Clinic program allows you to work on real cases, developing skills in advocacy, legal writing and client engagement.
